My Approach:
Sessions are client-led and I work with what you bring into therapy. Each individual is unique to me, so I tailor my approach according to client needs so they can receive the best possible service from me as we agree our working alliance to reach an agreed outcome.
Allows you the space to off-load / share your feelings and thoughts so you can find solutions and gain understanding of your problems. I aim to build a positive professional therapeutic relationship with clients so they feel safe to share as I use reflective techniques to guide them.
Looks at your current thoughts and behavioural patterns and links it to your past unconscious memories which you may have not being aware of because they are too painful to acknowledge and deal with so are kept hidden / repressed.
This looks at why you think and behave the way you do and then provides you with the knowledge and choice to help change your perception and behaviour.
Focuses on the future rather than the problem of the past. I implement this approach by looking at what personal resources clients have that can enable them overcome difficulties in their lives.
Social and personality interactions between the Adult, Child and Parent relationship state.
This approach is used for Clinical Supervision.
I use visual aids and therapeutic tools to help clients connect with their feelings and thoughts in a descriptive and artisic way.
Artistic forms of movements, drawings, paintings, music, journaling, writing and improvisation to aid healing and self-discovery.
This looks at the structure of a family and how they function, their behaviours, relationships and patterns. I work collaboratively with the family using techniques, motivational interviewing, observations etc to develop new ways or thinking and relating as a family unit.
